Season Outlook

Entering his Junior season, Austin has established himself as the Central Coast Sections' top goalkeeper, and one of the best in the country at his age. A two-time 1st team All-WCAL selection already, Austin was also named the WCAL's Defensive Player of the Year last season.

As a 16 year old, Austin is a very solid 6'1" 200 lb 'keeper, and still growing. His superb, size 11 hands, and great size make him nearly unbeatable.  Knowledge of the position, earned through years of 1 on 1 training and great coaching, makes him fundamentally sound in every aspect of goalkeeping.  Distribution continues to improve as he gets older, with his punts traveling 80 yards consistently.

Austin's leadership in the defense have earned him the captain's armband for his Junior season.  The coaches will look for him to continue his positive leadership.

Austin will lead the Warriors' defense, and is poised to have another great year.

Club Soccer

Austin plays his club soccer for the De Anza Force Academy team (US Soccer), coached by Shaun Tsakaris.  He has also enjoyed success with the Olympic Development Program (ODP) California State Team. Austin has routinely been called in to tryout for the U-17 US National team, with the latest tryout being at the Bradenton residency program.

Personal Info

Austin lives in South San Jose, and has two sisters.  He hopes to play Division I soccer after high school. His interests include UCLA, Maryland, Santa Clara, Creighton, Virginia, and Indiana.

Sophomore Year (07-08)

• Named 1st Team Goalkeeper for the CCS by the 'San Jose Mercury News.'
• Named CCS 'Sophomore of the Year' by the San Jose Mercury News' in 2008
• Named to the ALL Bay Area First Team by Rise Magazine. 
• Named the WCAL's Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 07-08 as a Sophomore.
• Voted to the ALL-West Catholic Athletic League First Team as a Sophomore in 2008
• Awarded Valley Christian's 'Defensive MVP' as a 2008 Sophomore.

Freshman Year (06-07)

• Named the Central Coast Section's (120 schools) 'Freshman of the Year' by the San Jose Mercury News in 2007. Click here for a link to see this.

• Voted to the ALL-West Catholic Athletic League First Team as a Freshman in 2007.
