#1 Ben Hansen -- Class of '06 -- GK
Season Outlook
Ben enters his fourth varsity season at
Valley Christian, a Two-time WCAL 2nd Team All League Keeper. He will look to lead the Warriors back into the CCS
playoffs where they've been his first three years. Ben is one of the
State's top goalies, and is looking to improve on his 24 career shutouts. Look for Ben to get the attention of several Division I
colleges this season. Known for his athletic ability, great
distribution skills, and his ability to shut down 1 on 1's.
Ben holds every significant Valley
Christian Goalkeeping record including Wins (36), Shutouts (24), and
Career GAA (1.15).
Junior Year
Hansen started 18 matches, and posted a
1.47 GAA making several key saves. His 5 shutouts came in crucial
matches that helped the Warriors make their 3rd straight CCS appearance.
Sophomore Year
Starting 24 games as a sophomore, Hansen
recorded 8 shutouts and a .96 goals against average. His efforts helped
him to be awarded 2nd Team All-WCAL. Perhaps most impressive were his
performances in big games, of which there were many.
Freshman Year
As a freshman, Ben posted 11 shutouts and
carried a 1.14 GAA. Competing in one one of the top leagues in
California, Ben faces Division I destined players week in and week out.
Personal Info
Ben's brother Chris played with him at VC
for his first two seasons, and now plays for Azusa Pacific University in
Southern California. A Division I prospect, Ben's first choices are Creighton, Stanford, and
Santa Clara.
Ben has a
4.0 Cumulative GPA and will take the SATs this year. Ben is a star place
kicker for the perennial CCS Champion Valley Christian football team,
and widely regarded as the CCS's best kicker.
