Alumni Update!! 10.4.2006

With a few months gone in the college soccer season, and VC Soccer starting in just a few weeks, VCSoccer.com caught up with some former VC stars to see what they're up to...




Brandon Stirm: MF, Azusa Pacific University.

Stirmy has run his totals to 12 goals, and 25 assists in 2.5 years at APU.  This season, he's starting and starring for the #2 Cougars (7-1-1).  Brandon's goal and assist against Biola last week, guided the team to a come from behind victory. In his next game, he added another goal (pictured above).  The story from that game can be found here.

James Coggan: F, Seattle Pacific University.

Half way through his Junior season, Jimmy is leading SPU in scoring with 4 goals and 5 assists.  His two goals against Regis last week paced SPU to it's 9th win of the season. You can read the game recap here. Jim's career totals have climbed to 14 goals and 13 assists...and his team is ranked #8 in the NCAA Division II, with a 9-2 record.  The Falcons travel to Colorado this week to take on CU Colorado Springs.


Also, Jimmy was just named GNAC Player of the Week for his performance against Regis!!

Donny Dequine: MF, Azusa Pacific University.

Donny had two assists in a 3-1 victory over Cal Baptist College, and one of those assists came on Brandon Stirm's goal. Donny now has 4 career goals, and 6 assists.

Chris Zambataro: F, Dominican College.

Chris scored his first college goal this past week in a 4-1 game against San Diego Christian College.  You can find a recap of the game by following the link below.  Congrats Chris!

Ben Hansen: GK, Azusa Pacific University.


Now starting for the APU football team, Ben has yet to see his first game between the pipes for the soccer team.  Ben has made two field goals (43, 26), and is perfect on extra points.  He is second on his team in scoring with 14 points.  Ben has by far done the most travelling, visiting Ohio, Wisconsin, and Washington.  Trips to Oregon, and Oklahoma are coming up next.

Jeff Coggan: MF, Santa Clara University.

Though used sparingly so far, Jeff has seen some time on the pitch for the NCAA Division I 15th ranked Broncos.
