New faces join
usual suspects at tryouts 10/31
It's been a long
off-season, and the last time the boys Varsity soccer team played
together was during a disappointing CCS
loss to Hillsdale.
On the heels of three
straight CCS appearances, the offseason has brought several nice
improvements to the VC side. As tryouts opened, the coaching staff
witnessed several players who had not only grown in size, but ability.
"We're not blessed with 50
kids at our tryouts, but what we do have is 20 kids who want to play for
Valley Christian" assistant coach
John Basanese said.
Without spoiling the season
that's around the corner, it's easy to say that several VC players have
made great strides with their offseason regiments.
"We've got the obvious well
known returners; Keeling,
Coggan, Hansen,
Stryker, and
Mac paired with
Nett in the back...but there are some
lesser known players who are going to make an impact for us this season.
Not to mention we have some great additions who came through our JV,"
concluded Basanese.
